Privacy Notice

Last updated 8 July 2026

This notice explains, in plain terms, what personal information we collect on this site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and jargon-free.

Section 1

Who we are

Seghu is made by hibretOne CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales. If you have any question about this notice or about your information, email us at info@hibretone.org.

Section 2

What we collect

There are two places on this site where we ask for your details:

When you sign up to the newsletter

Your first name, last name, email address and organisation, and which updates you asked for (launch news and/or the funding newsletter).

When you fill in the tester survey

Your name or initials, an optional email address, and a little context about your session (your region, device, browser, the kind of organisation you run and your experience level), plus your ratings and any comments you leave about the platform.

The survey also has an optionalsection with a few questions about your background, things like gender, age, ethnicity, disability and neurodiversity, so we can check Seghu works well for all kinds of founders. These questions are always optional. We only collect them if you tick the box to say you are happy to share them, and you can choose “Prefer not to say” for any question or skip the section entirely.

Section 3

Why we use it

  • Your newsletter details are used only to send you the updates you signed up for.
  • Your survey answers help us improve Seghu while it is still in early testing, understand who is trying it, and follow up with you if you left an email and are happy to hear from us.
  • The optional background questions are only ever looked at as anonymous, grouped totals, to check Seghu is easy to use for everyone. We never single you out from them.

We do all of this because you gave us your permission, and you can change your mind and withdraw that permission at any time.

Section 4

Where it's kept, and who can see it

  • Everything you send through this site is stored securely on servers based in the European Union.
  • If you join the newsletter, we share your name, email and organisation with a trusted email provider (also based in the European Union) purely so they can deliver those emails for us. They do not use your details for anything else.
  • Your survey answers are seen only by a small number of our team and are never shared with anyone outside hibretOne CIC.
  • We never sell your personal information, to anyone, ever.

Section 5

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter details for as long as you stay subscribed, and remove them within a reasonable time after you unsubscribe. We keep tester survey answers for the length of the testing programme and a short while afterwards, to help us make product decisions, and then delete or anonymise them.

Section 6

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can:

  • Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Withdraw your permission at any time, including for the optional background questions
  • Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use your information
  • Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format

To make any of these requests, just email info@hibretone.org. If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
